Saluspa-style inflatable spas are popular because they set up without a crane and cost less than a hard shell. They also need steadier care: thin walls, smaller filters, and a pump/heater pack that sits outside the water. This guide is about keeping one clean and usable — not a star rating.

Daily / weekly habits

  • Cover on when you are not soaking. Debris and heat loss are the enemy.
  • Skim leaves and bugs before they sink into the filter.
  • Test sanitizer and pH at least weekly (more in hot weather or after guests).
  • Rinse the cartridge often; keep a spare.

Cleaning the liner

When you drain, wipe the interior with a spa-safe cleaner. Avoid harsh household abrasives that scratch the PVC. Rinse well so cleaner residue does not foam on refill. We have shown longer-term cleaning after months of use on the channel — expect some staining in hard-water areas.

Pump and recall awareness

The pump/heater is the expensive part. Keep vents clear of snow and leaves. Use a GFCI outlet as directed. Check current recall information for Saluspa AirJet / HydroJet pumps against your serial number; we have covered recall notices on the channel when they applied.

Inflation and site

Place the tub on a smooth, puncture-resistant surface. Top off air as temperature swings change bladder pressure — cold nights can make walls feel softer. Do not drag a full tub.

Care routines transfer well across similar inflatable brands. Always follow the manual that shipped with your exact model for fill lines, chemical limits, and electrical warnings.
